Olympic Spirit Posters - Summer 2012

To celebrate the Olympics coming to London in 2012, I created this series of posters based around the Olympic Spirit. The project was for a university project.
Triumph Over Adversity - Jesse Owens - Berlin 1936

Jesse Owens probably best represents triumph over adversity at the Olympics as he fought against the racial stereotype of Nazi Germany and Hitler's Aryan Race.
It's the taking part that counts! - Eric "The Eel" - Sydney 2000

Everyone loves an underdog... Eric Moussambani from Equitorial Quinea will be forever held in the same prestige as Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe!  He was an Olympian who epitomised the Olympic Spirit of taking part, to become an international swimming sensation overnight as people watch him smash the Equitorial Quinea National Record!!! Good on you Eric!

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics Usain Bolt burst onto the scene as the fastest man the world had ever seen smashing both the  100m and 200m world records in amazing fashion.
A Nation's Hopes & Dreams - Jessica Ennis - London 2012

As the nation awaited the London 2012 games, they placed all their hopes and dreams onto the shoulders of Jessica Ennis. She took theses dreams and turned them into Olympic Gold.
