Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon - Creative Campaign

Problem
Create branding for Australia’s largest and most prestigious Half Marathon, appealing to the 10,000 participants.

Solution
Using photos from previous Half Marathon events, I created faceless silhouettes that
could serve as both male and female representation. For the street flags, I intentionally used a dark background as fumes from the traffic can soon turn white flags grey and dirty.
The silhouette creative continued over many years, each year I mixed it up by adding other Sydney icons the runners' travel past such as the Harbour Bridge, Centrepoint Tower and the city skyline as well as introducing teal to the branding colour palette.

Pictured below, initial concepts, the finalised design & the end result on street flags that appeared across CBD Sydney.
Finalising designs for the individual & relay medals. When placed together the relay medals formed one large medal.
The final result appearing on T-shirt designs.
The final result appearing on a double-sided information brochure.
Continuing the artwork over the next year with a new colour palette, Sydney icons and expansion of runner silhouettes.
Converting the next year artwork onto a T-shirt design.
The final result on a certificate and double-sided brochure.
