Tamboret Col·lectiu 002 / Product Design & Art Workshop
For the second version of the art installation Tamboret Col·lectiu (collective stool) For the second version of the Collective Stool, the project took on a social character through Laboratorio Soprasotto and Associazione Medionauta from Milan, Italy. In this edition, the performance goes around the renovation of the stools for the nursery Soprasotto.
The intervention was developed disassembling all the stools to have the different pieces of wood creating a big mural to be painted by the same children who frequent the association.
With this action, the designs created were totally unrelated to their final position in the stool and create dynamic and random drawings. They were the same users to paint them, boys and girls between 18 months and 4 years old.
The project is completed with the design and production of a backrest to be fitted in the stools. The stools are built to be used with two different seat heights, by turning the piece. Positioned with the highest seat up, the backrest is very short. The backrest created would serve to prevent the risk of children falling back. In these six pieces, we could see different basic geometric shapes to make a game for the school. The shapes, were created applying an adhesive tape to prevent paint at this areas.
