The Challenge
I was in the last stages of my Journalism mayor. I had the chance to join the soccer team I have always supported and be part of their communication's team. I had little to no experience back then and I was tasked with interviews, reporting, press liaison, photojournalism, social media management among other cool things you get to do when being part of a communications crew of a soccer team.
What I take
I learned a lot about the work a journalist can do when working for media but also the role of a journalist as a facilitator for his colleagues. The biggest lesson I took was: be one step ahead. I learned this when reporting and taking pictures that sometimes gave an intended, misleading glimpse into the team training sessions or plan, so rivals wouldn't get a chance to see the team's strategy through my work as journalist.
