This project centred around creating a website/webstore for Namo, which helps customers all over the world to access the product range through an online catalogue, and shop from wherever. Namo, a line of exclusive décor accessories, wanted to expand their brand to this forum. Namo products were sold at various retail stores and through exhibitions. The previous website did not give product details, making it difficult for the users to make decisions online.
The new website increased the sales through website by 50%.
The new website increased the sales through website by 50%.
Created iterated task flows and wireframes to suit the needs of the users and client.
As a graphic designer, my role consisted of a wide range of tasks from idea generation, discussions, and conceptualisation to content organisation and site structure, communication with and presentations to the client, and visualisation and execution of web design and motion graphics for the website. In addition to this, I was involved in creating concepts and wire frames for the e-shop as well along with retail merchandising. Another important part of the project was a critical evaluation of the end product and a relevant discussion of issues related to the project.
The project included intense user research, persona building, user testing, information architecture, stock checking, photo shoots etc. and a complete documentation. I used UCD techniques such as surveys, shadowing, personas, card sorting and simple prototyping for user testing.
Personas and Analysis
My role in this project was of a front-end designer, I was not involved in the development. Though I provided concrete and fully detailed navigation & interaction maps and details, the coding was not up to the mark. That is where my project lacked. The current website online, is not how I had proposed it.
The complete ideation, navigation, interaction and layouts along with the research can be found in my final documentation below.
For quick and better understanding of the interface, navigation and interaction; Screenshots of the pages as proposed.
