Bob Ross Embroidery Hoop

Bob Ross Inspired Embroidery Hoop idea process walkthrough.
The episode this hoop is based on, "Trappers Cabin":
First I downloaded the clearest image I could find of the painting.
Then, I posterized the image to give me clearer color blocks to work with. This helped me choose colors for the painting later on.
Next I visualized how much of the painting I should focus on, and what the positioning should be.
After I transferred my outlines to my hoop, I started on the most complicated areas first. These were the areas with the smallest stitches, most variety in color, and had the most potential to buckle the fabric.
Then, I worked from the bottom up doing a satin stitch for the bulk of the scene elements. The direction of these stitches was important for maintaining a realistic look and depth.
For these stitches I found it best to make guideline stitches or markings to keep the angle consistent.
For the finished product I changed the roof color to work better with the colors I selected for the project, and filled in any gaps in the stitch work.
