Herman Miller x Blender 2.8 x FLIP Fluids
This project was designed as a practical test of Blender 2.8's new EEVEE realtime rendering system as well as the FLIP fluids addon's new "sheeting" features. This new feature allows for "nearest-neighbor" particle calculations to fill holes in the fluid mesh that often plague this type of simulation.

"EEVEE is a new physically based realtime renderer. It works both as a renderer for final frames, and as the engine driving Blender’s realtime viewport for creating assets.
It has advanced features such as volumetrics, screen-space reflections and refractions, subsurface scattering, soft and contact shadows, depth of field, camera motion blur and bloom." (blender.org)

I came up with this small speculative spot to see what could be done with these amazing new tools. The chair is the beautiful COSM chair by Studio 7.5 for Herman Miller

The entire simulation and render (1 x GTX1080ti) time combined for what you see here is under an hour. This kind of speed opens up amazing new opportunities for quick-turnaround animation and experimentation.

Enjoy.
