for Vestel in 2018
Design Background
—
The task was to design a washing machine that can radically challenge the typical and conventional look of the washers that Vestel brand had been manufacturing. The product should have the potential of being positioned as unique in the market.
Benchmark
—
The non-conventional washing machines in the market were chronologized and examined rigorously. Doors are getting bigger and displays are getting more integrated into doors. And the overall appearances of exterior elements perform as a monolithic form.
Ideation
—
The predictions of what can be next in the market according to the trends in this range were experimented. How display can be positioned, how display and door can be integrated, what are the other ways of making door seem bigger and creating a unique form? Those are the questions that I kept in mind during the ideation.
Final Products
—
The Influence washer and dryer are stunning with their iconic and eye-catching appearance. The cleverly sized, curved doors enrich the monolithic look. The door becomes a part of both the edges and the front. The chrome addons on the doors indicate the opening sides while the hinges are placed at the opposite directions. Easy operation displays provide convenience for the users.
