At the core of the Design Ireland brand was a determination to show Irish craft in a bold new light and create a confident brand for a fast-growing sector of Irish entrepreneurs and makers.
Design Ireland Identity
The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland approached us to create an umbrella brand for Irish craft and design makers. While Irish crafts were seen favourably overseas there was no central place to search and shop the breadth of Irish design. We created the Design Ireland brand from scratch — a simple, uncluttered, bold identity that refreshed the tone of Irish craft. The logo pays homage to the bold typographic styles found in mid-century Irish woodblock posters. From jewellery to accessories to homeware — this brand needed room for them all. We developed a visually striking photographic style to unify the vast and varied world of contemporary Irish craft in a recognisable, confident way.
