Three-Dimensional Geometric Abstraction:
Critter Design
This project is an introduction to three-dimensional abstraction and woodworking whereby the designer is challenged to create a critter of unique design using geometric circles, triangles and squares. The project is enhanced by assemblage with the use of hardware fasteners to emphasize facial characteristics and other features.
Side view and frontal view of final critter. The inspiration for this critter was a curled up cat. I tried to use the wood grain to capture a cat's stripes.

Initial drawings of possible geometric critters. The Cat drawing was chosen to move forward.

I discovered I didn't give it support to stand and added a base.
