Naïve Magazine

Project Overview
As part of my final major project I focused on LGBT issues as the source of inspiration for my final piece at university.
In this project I sourced both primary and secondary sources such as articles, photos and interviews to curate a LGBT magazine.

The Brief
As a self -written and directed brief, I felt that I should focus on LGBT issues as this is something that is personal to me and many of the people I know.
I sought after getting interviews with people I know to discuss issues they face within the LGBT community and collating articles.
As well as primary sources, I felt that there were some great articles around that perhaps did not get as much attention as they deserved.
Such examples I included; a speech by Panti Bliss, a drag queen from Ireland, who talks about oppression in society.
The Imitation Game, as Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead as Alan Turing, a legendary mathematician and scientist who helped create the foundation of computing as well as the first ever code breaking machine in the Second World War.

The Outcome
A magazine designed, curated and designed by myself for the LGBT community. The idea was to make an inspirational and interesting magazine that could inform, help and interest those who wish to read it.
