In 2010, the New Zealand Ministry of Defence made copies of their UFO documents open to the public, albeit with details redacted. Though the original files remain restricted in the New Zealand Archives until further notice, the public version of the documents reveal enough to tell a strange yet interesting aspect of New Zealand history. 

Zines and a website were designed to document the history of UFO sightings in New Zealand, capturing a few of the accounts of claimed sightings, while portraying them in a serious and objective manner.
