PROJECT MORIONES: T-Shirt Pop-up Business in Marinduque, Philippines 2016

The Moriones festival is held during the Lenten Holy Week annualy in the island of Marinduque. The festival is famous for the colorful costumes depicting roman soldiers and Saint Longinus as they crucified Jesus Christ on the cross.
The original concept for the design was an illustration of the Moriones masks used for the festival.
Due to difficulties encountered with the production of the actual silk screen, we had to reduce the design's details.
The design in its final mock-up.
We didn't want to limit ourselves to just one design. Some folks don't like the mean-looking morion masks on their shirts, so we decided to create another one. Something that can be more symbolic and artsy.
This is the last design in the flesh. The color wasn't what we planned, but it turned out to be prettier than original.

The event was a success! Too bad we weren't able to get everyone together to do another pop-up the following year.
