On a shoe-string budget, we created a 7-minute short for our Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for me to draw 6 issues of the Z'Isle comic book series. As assistant director I spliced live footage with comic-book illustrations, which helped tell a fuller story with less money. As a writer my challenge was to tell a story while also explaining the lore of the world and the purpose of the campaign. This was achieved with a voice over narrative that introduced the audience to the mythology and a story featuring two main characters along with a description of how funding would help bring our comic book series to life.
