IT IS ALL ABOUT JAZZ
A EUROPEAN JAZZFESTIVAL
Jazz has always been a mirror of the mood in a generation. Up-to-date jazz develops with the current generations and their interests. The different directions always know where their roots are.
Based on my experiences in the EU funded exchange program -Erasmus- I decided to design a European Jazz Festival. Here the basic values of openness, freedom and liberality are in the foreground.
In the designing process, I put a focus on the design of the Blue Note Cover classics. But to create a modern design, I put a focus on typography and there I included the color tablet from the Blue Note covers.

About the festival
As the oldest jazz festival location in Germany, Frankfurt has always been an important address for jazz in Germany and Europe. That is precisely why Frankfurt is suitable as the centre for the meeting of the young European jazz scene. In a time where the European Union is more and more drifting a part, jazz shows a common language that brings together the diversity of the different national jazz scene. Frankfurt and the entire European jazz community invite you to a colourful and open jazz festival.
About the musicians
Reinier Baas (The Netherlands) His electric creativity can be admired in different settings, from solo to full orchestras.
Tomasz Dabrowski (Poland) Polish trumpet player Tomasz Dabrowski's unique approach blends avant-jazz languages with Eastern European folk music.
De Beren Gieren (Belgium) This brilliant piano trio moves between post-jazz textures, minimalist spells, electro-acoustic distorting mirrors and humorous jumps into the tradition.
Alexander Hawkins (United Kingdom) British pianist and keyboardist Alexander Hawkins stands as one of the most original composers and improvisers of his generation.
Christian Lillinger (Germany) Sparkling German drummer Christian Lillinger is not only a sought-after player in many European combos, but leads some thrilling projects on his own. A 21st Century drummer!
Mopo (Finland) Snarky jazz meets good ol' brother punk in the middle of the Finnish landscape. Captivating and fresh!
Mette Rasmussen (Denmark) Add some good ol' and new punkish attitude to free improvisation, shake it with some naughty uncompromising Northern European DNA and you will get young quicksilver Mette Rasmussen.
Eve Risser (France) For improviser and composer Eve Risser the piano is a magic boxful of worlds.
Julian Sartorius (Switzerland) Swiss drummer Julian Sartorius knows how to build enchanted worlds of rhythms.
Elias Stemeseder (Austria) From the land of Joe Zawinul comes one of the most surprising pianists/keyboardists of these years.
