Celebrate Australia/Australia now

The first, and still largest, event I worked on. A week long cultural and trade fair staged by DFAT to promote Australia as a destination and build trade relationships with Japanese industry. It was the first one ever held, and filmed as a guide for the next batch of embassies due to roll it out in other nations.

It was a privilege to be involved, and an unforgettable experience - especially accompanying Yothu Yindi to their dates around the country.

The programme has grown ever larger. Here’s a quote from last year’s show, once again held in Japan and now known as Australia Now:

“Australia now is an exciting eight-month program presented by the Australian Government showcasing contemporary Australia in one focus country each year. The program is funded through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade together with corporate partners: Woodside, Rio Tinto, BHP, ANA, Japan Airlines, New South Wales Government, Qantas, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation/SMBC NIKKO Securities Inc., True Aussie Beef, Tourism Australia, JTB, INPEX CORPORATION and Government of Western Australia.”
