Peg Back | adaptive shelves

A simple design that lets you hang, remove and move shelves and drawers on a wall.
The life is a constant change and you may find yourself needing some more space on your shelves – for the souvenirs you've brought from your last trip, for that nice vase you've just bought or simply for all the bags you have suddenly laying around when your friends come to your house.
Designing this shelf system I thought about letting the user to change and adapt it in a simple manner. So no screws, no nails and certainly no glue.
It works by using a clever peg system. The pegs as well as the holes in the supporting planks are at an angle so the more weight you put on the shelf the deeper the pegs want to go. This way the shelf sits firmly under any load.
And to change the position of the shelf you just lift it upwards and slightly pull towards you. Yes, you do need to take everything off the shelf first ;) Various holes drilled in the supporting planks let you install the shelf exactly where you want it to be.

The shelves themselves can be made using any technique, with fasteners or without. The pegs are pieces of a wooden dowel about a centimeter in diameter so they have enough strength to withstand quite a load.
Thanks and have a nice day!
