DER PHILOSOPH, DER KEINER SEIN WOLLTE

llustration for the last issue 2/2019

“One can understand psychoanalysis as a method of therapy, but also as a universal teaching about people. Then it acquires a philosophical dimension. So what is its founder Sigmund Freud, a disguised philosopher? We answer with a cautious yes.“

With these premises, this illustration had to be created. Turn the mind into an Agora, a meeting and discussion point. A staircase that goes inside, showing the different strata to reach the nucleus, the id, the ego and the super-ego. A place to sit, observe and be able to analyze one's own interior. Reference to the sculpture of the thinker as a cultural and visual symbol of reflection, sitting on the hand that guides and accompanies in this therapy, that of psychoanalysis.

After showing the first steps on the idea, the first sketches begin, then the choice of the color palette to conclude with the final result.
