78º is a personal exercise of creative exploration from a configurative design approach, which aims to understand the limitations that exist within the development of a project as factors that can be of high value when working creatively.
The exercise consists of projecting the design of 15 objects of different types, adapting to the limitation of using only 78º angles and horizontal lines, which forces to generate different results with the same elements, avoiding creative blocks and achieving a standard configuration.

I designed this exercise as a critic and reflection to consider that as creatives we have less and less interest in designing or exploring alternatives that encourage us to generate new ideas, generalizing our output as purely aesthetic in prototypes with good photographs, models or plans, without finish assimilating the simplicity of the most elementary ideas.
The purpose of 78º is to be an exploration tool that approaches design as a means to generate different possibilities under requirements that can not be changed.

78º es un ejercicio personal de exploración creativa desde un enfoque configurativo, el cual tiene como objetivo entender las limitantes que existen dentro del desarrollo de un proyecto como factores que pueden ser de alto valor al trabajarse creativamente.
El ejercicio consiste en proyectar el diseño de 15 objetos de distintas tipologías adaptándose a la limitante de utilizar únicamente ángulos de 78º y líneas horizontales, lo cual forza a generar distintos resultados con los mismos elementos, evadiendo bloqueos creativos y logrando una configuración estándar.

Diseñé este ejercicio como una crítica y reflexión al considerar que como creativos cada vez tenemos menos interés por diseñar o explorar alternativas que nos inciten a la generación de nuevas ideas, generalizando nuestro output como meramente estético en prototipos con buenas fotografías, maquetas o planos, sin terminar de asimilar la simplicidad de las ideas más elementales.
El propósito de 78º es ser una herramienta de exploración que aborda el diseño como un medio para generar distintas posibilidades bajo requerimientos que no pueden cambiarse.
