Around 10 million tons of waste, consisting mostly of plastic parts, ends up in the oceans each year. More than 150 million tons of plastic waste is nowadays polluting the ocean. In the year 2050 the amount of plastic waste in the oceans will probably exceed the amount of fish. The future extends of consequences for the nature and for all creatures cannot be fully estimated but are already visible:
Sea animals often die an excruciating death when they eat plastic, after confusing it with food. Even in mussels and shrimps micro plastics can be found. So, small pieces of plastic end up in our food and in our body.
