All Things Awesome - Logo Design
I was commissioned to work on this project by a local shop who was looking to brand themselves differently so we had worked on a brief that positioned their business with a retro nostalgic styled brand. This project was beyond fun and had similar challenges that had us take certain directions to our final outcome. This met and exceeded our expectations!
The analog phase is where I go through a discovery session with clients to narrow down which direction to go with on a design. We went back and forth a bit on what culture and values ATA would bring and what kind of audience was to be targeted. After I go through a few sketches to pitch over to the client and see which he preferred and then expand on the best choice. (Looks very primitive I know lol but this is vital to my design strategy)
After approval, the nest step was to go digital! a Black Serif font would be the best representation for this brand because of its nostalgic characteristics.
the first portion of the vector process was to create outlines that would adhere to the thick lines of the font and not be thin enough to bypass the outer white/black lines. Illustrator is the real MVP for giving me those sharp corners.
Probably the most time consuming part of the project was actually making the 3d style lines and keeping everything proportionate. Using tools like blending paths really helped me out. also including the colors that best represents the brand.
Using samples from presets and lots of retro inso from Pinterest, the right amount of combinations in gradients, glows and lazer like lights really made this eye-popping! This really made the design stand out and give contextual meaning to what the brand entails. The mantra was decided last minute to better communicate with audiences of similar interest.
And now... Some mocks!
We were really excited from start to finish how this project was made into existence and looking forward to what will come. If you like this style of design go ahead and follow me on my social channels to stay updated on what I am currently working on. Normally I like to do old-school style metal types of work so this was definitely in that range! If you enjoyed this project leave an appreciation! Id really appreciate it as well as your thoughts!
