Lightmare is a UDK project, which it has been developed by 7 students.

Sound : Faceless Fear - Anno 2070
During this project, I was Game Designer and UDK Scripter. We based the game about the feeling of to be lost in a nightmare.
The player play as a kid who need to find an exit out of this nightmare. His only help is a glowing ball who makes him feel better.

Our intention about feeling guide us on a game where the player can't die. Only his view will be distorted if he goes too far from the glowing ball.

At the beginning, I designed three short challenge on Visio quickly (we got closed deadlines). It was our first UDK project as a group, so we learned how we can share assets, scripts, maps, and packages.

During this project, I got the pleasure to discover how to create a Post Process effect and tweak it in real time through Kismet with a Matinee.
I also got the job to find a way to fix issues in our game. We got many problems with dynamic light or the physics of the glowing ball. Every problem has a solution.
It's the Matinee which controls the Post Process Effect. The effect change depending on the time that the player stay out of the area of effect of the glowing ball.
On the left side, the Post Process Effect reaches the max value. On the right, the lowest value. The lowest value keeps a low distortion parameter because it's reinforcing the immersion of the player.
Here is my first Post Process material.
