This show is about grave robbers in the 19th Century. One pair specifically, William Burke and William Hare, are known for the Burke and Hare Murders in Edinburgh, Scotland. These men would rob graves for the anatomical study of a nearby anatomy lecturer - Dr. Robert Knox. The  lecturer would pay the duo a large sum for the cadavers brought in. These grave robbers became known as “the ressurrectionist men”.
