1936: Top Notch Coffee

PROBLEM A high end coffee company prompted me to create a brand inspired by their new residence: a historical bathhouse from the year 1937.

SOLUTION I researched every aspect of the bathhouse, and that led me to uncover the culture of swimwear during that time period. Swimsuits were just becoming more and more fashionable and streamlined. Classy ladies would wear swimwear of nautical themes with their elegant 'sea smocks' and lounge about the pool, with possibly no intent on hopping in the water.

This slender tin canister is an embodiment of that culture. The gathered fabric fastened with the rope mimics the shape of the female figure with a fashionable pattern underneath.Potentially there could be a series of these with different fashions. The logo resembles the shapes of coffee beans while remaining elegant and classy.
