Origin3 Studio has been invited to prepare a development proposal for Freeman Homes of approximately 80 houses, based on the consultant’s technical studies and site visits.
The site presents an opportunity for a modestly scaled residential development, in the context of the existing Newnham community, with its local facilities.
In the context of this exercise, the brief also specifies the development of a range of high quality house types in terms of cost and product efficiency and with a distinctive architectural appearance, taking this proposal to a next level of design from the standard housebuilder product.
The architectural languages for the houses respond to the edge of the village context in both form and elevation treatment.
The proposal identifies different character areas which aims to provide a transition between the village settlement and the rural edge towards the north.
