MATV 2018
Magyar Asztalos is a hungarian wood industry magazine, They organize a student competition for high scool carpenter students every year. In 2018, I was commissioned to design the furniture, what the school teams manufacture in the competition.
It was an interesting challenge to design furniture to measure carpenter skills. Usually I pursue simplicity in technical and aesthetic aspect, but now tried to create a techically challenging, yet simple looking piece.
The body of the nightstand and the inner parts of the drawer made by pine, the drawer front and the legs are made by oak.
Every school has one or more, three member team, every team has 10 hour to complete the task. This year 15 teams competed. The sample piece made by Árkossy Bútor.
