DESIGN CONCEPT NOTE
Creating a strong impression by taking a creative insight into factors that will enhance the overall experience by focusing on History, Culture, Richness, Friendliness and Function. Every space is an exhibit in some way and is a window to a culture of experiences.

The exhibition showcases the journey & evolution of the RBI over the last 80 yrs. It is a chronological exhibition with various nature of content that takes the visitor through the journey of one of the most reputed institutions in the country. The design of the exhibition takes a clean and modular approach and revolves around the metaphors of authority, richness, refinement and multi-layering and structures content in a very understandable manner.

The experience & design takes into consideration all ergonomic parameters and the temporary & traveling nature of the exhibition. The materials and processes used also reflect the richness and heritage to be depicted. The panel structure is made in wood & all printing will be done on archival paper and processes like silk screen printing & etching will be used to give the texture to the panels. Flag type banners will be used as section separators or signage also bringing about the institutional nature of the organization. There is seating provided for people to sit and relax while visiting the exhibition where they can view the same content on LCD screens. We could also have some pedestals with the book ‘mint milestones’, where a visitor interested in knowing more about the history of RBI, could go through the same in detail.

The size and design of the panels are such that they can get arranged in various permutations and combinations. The modular nature of the display structure can adapt to any kind of space. The layout is done in a way where there are distinct sections but still is an organic layout so that the visitor can choose his path.

The exhibition is divided virtually into 6 sections. The navigation is free flowing and organic which allows the visitor to choose his own path. Cues through color coding per section and a carpeted pathway in the same section color guide leads him through the flow or sequence of the evolution story.

The layout is dynamic and the panel structure is modular thus allowing the exhibition to adapt itself to different spaces. The sections are spaced out and allows the visitor enough time to absorb the information being given out. Also created pockets of seating areas where the viewer can relax and watch the same info on a LCD screen at ease.
The panel structure is very modular and simple, allowing the panels to be laid out in multiple variations. The panel have been consciously made floor-standing as it reduces its dependency on the nature of the space that this exhibition might travel to. It is made of 2 units which can be used in various permutations and combinations to fit a desired space or flow.

The material used is hard wood, which signifies or brings about the richness and the warmth in the experience. It also complements the material & style of the building i.e. refined and classic and yet minimal carrying the culture forward.

Size of the panel is optimal & not increasing wastage, hence reducing the costs. Typical Panel Size: 38" x 90"
