SUITCASE ARCHIPELAGO

Collaboration with: Eric Soifer

The primary goal of Suitcase Archipelago is to allow complex, configurable life scenarios. The project is not seeking to impose a particular culture, but to provide a set of parts that create some autonomy for those receiving them. The kit of parts is flexible, space planning is relatively open, walls are variable. The goal is to create a frame for the community, where modules can adapt to modern family configurations, expand for new generations, and provide the freedom to be isolated.
This system, plus its location on the sea, rethink housing as a linear phenomenon. Rather than clustered, rooms stretched out. Which allows for different relationships within the family, and different relationships to the community.
