June is a Montreal-based startup wishing to bring the world of cannabis and wellness closer together. I was mandated by Moss design studio, who developed the strategic positioning for June, to create a powerful visual identity and packaging system that would position them as a category leader in Canada’s nascent cannabis industry.
The brand marque was inspired by it’s name and the nature of the product itself. The shape suggest an exalted eye as well as a rising sun alluding to the enjoyment and benefits offered by the plant. It evokes positivity and a general sense of wellness while also hinting at the seven pointed leaf.
We also worked closely with the founders to create 4 lines of product that would resonate with people’s daily health need for cannabis. Along with the naming, an iconography system was then developed for each of the four lines.

June est un tout nouveau startup faisant son entrée dans le marché naissant du cannabis au Canada. J’ai été mandatée par l’agence Moss, qui était en charge du positionnement stratégique de la marque, afin de développer une identité visuelle et un système d’emballage fort et distinctif pour la marque de manière à les positionner en tant que chef de file dans l’industrie du cannabis canadien.
Le logo conçu pour June s’est fortement inspiré de son nom ainsi que des bénéfices offerts par le produit. Sa forme suggère un oeil exalté et le rayonnement d’un soleil levant. C’est un symbol fort et positif, évoquant le bien-être tout en faisant un clin d’oeil aux 7 pointes de la feuille de cannabis.
Nous avons également travaillé en étroite collaboration avec les fondateurs afin de définir 4 lignes de produits qui résonneraient bien avec les besoins quotidien de nos clients quant à leur consommation de cannabis. En plus d'une nomenclature, un système d'iconographie a été développé afin de bien identifier chacune des 4 lignes de produits.
