CNB Design Competition

The Anti-Drug Posters and Brochure Design Competition was a joint collaboration between Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in Singapore and LASALLE College of the Arts.

Besides
providing an avenue for the students to showcase their talent and creativity, this competition is part of CNB’s continuing efforts to reach out to the youths to spread the anti-drug message and the consequences of drug abuse.
The target audience of this series of posters and brochures is the youth (aged 25 years and below) and the series should aim to have a consistent theme. The anti-drug message focuses on the withdrawal symptoms, harmful consequences and penalties of Heroin and Methamphetamine abuse. Each team was to come up with a Brochure design that features the serious and harmful consequences of Methamphetamine and Heroin abuse, one poster design on the serious andharmful consequences of Methamphetamine abuse and one poster design on the serious andharmful consequences of Heroin abuse and related information.

Through our work, the three of us have tried to bring across the anti-drug campaign as powerfully as we could. We have implemented vector images to support our two posters and brochure. Semiotics has been used as an approach to represent the harmful effects of heroin and methylamphetamine. Our concept aims to spread awareness on how one’s life should not be played with. Drugs drag you down and have purely negative effects, putting you and your loved ones in an extremely vulnerable position. By doing this project we have gained a lot of knowledge and will do all we can to support the cause.
