Commute Sketch was a three-month illustration project featured on Instagram in the summer and fall of 2018. More than 70 digital sketches of people taking public transit in St. Louis, Missouri were created between July 23 and October 10. Each sketch required five to ten minutes to create and post during the course of a daily commute.

This project sought to portray the diversity of the people who ride the St. Louis Metro bus and rail system. The fast-paced caricature method of illustrating was utilized to convey the unique individuality of each person, while making it possible to capture a moment in their day during the short amount of time we might share a bus.
