The Hurtado's Siren
"Cuentan los abuelos que antes, la sirena salía a las rocas los Jueves Santos y emitía su hermoso canto que se escuchaba por todo el valle, al tiempo que brindaba a su madre las lágrimas de la desobediencia"
"The grandparents tell us that before, the siren went out to the rocks on Holy Thursday and they gave off their beautiful song that was heard throughout the valley, while we offered their mother the tears of disobedience"
.. Su madre la buscó por toda la orilla del río creyéndola ahogada pero ella en la mañana, al salir el sol, dijo adiós con la cola antes de sonreír por ultima vez; entonces todos comprendieron la realidad
.. Her mother looked for her all along the river bank believing her drowned but she in the morning, when the sun came up, said goodbye with her tail before smiling for the last time; then everyone understood the reality
Hoy nadie sabe que cuando se ahoga un muchacho en Hurtado es porque la sirena se enamora de él y lo encanta; por eso se tiran al agua y no salen más.
Today nobody knows that when a boy drowns in Hurtado is because the mermaid falls in love with him and he loves it; that's why they jump into the water and do not come out anymore.
Con la ultima ilustración tuve la oportunidad de hacer parte del 5to Salón Visual Bacánika y ademas ganar el 2do lugar
