Rider Sandals Collabs with Miami’s Own Twelve’len

“The bumblebee has an average lifespan of 28 days [40,320 minutes]. It spends its short time on earth collecting nectar from the flowers around them. 40320 is a reminder that every minute is valuable.”

For two weeks, Rider Sandals has been using those words to caption almost all of their recent Instagram posts to highlight the release of their “40320” sandals with Miami artist, Twelve’len. The collection officially released on Sunday, June 24th at 1306 Miami, where Twelve’len performed and showcased his new design.

The “40320” sandals come in a bright, mustard yellow, similar to that of the pedals of a sunflower, or, the stripes on a bumblebee. The sandal is offered in a thong, slide and over-the-toe, around-the-ankle design and all have his name engraved into the soles of the sandals. Although created for comfort, the sandals are completely versatile. Along with other models, Twelve’len was captured on Rider’s Instagram sporting how the sandals can be paired with various outfits, such as jeans, button-ups, dresses and skirts. Twelve’len wore a beige, pin striped, oversized, long-sleeved top with baggy shorts and his double-strapped sandals from the “40320” collection.

Rider creates their sandals using 15 to 30 percent of recycled materials, recycling about 11,500 tons of material a year. Their mission behind their brand is to remind people that no effort is too small to start making a difference.

Twelve’len was able to leave his own special message on top of the slides, reading “Pou Ou Gen Yon Lavi Pou Viv Pa Viv Von Lavi,” which translates to “To have a life for living does not live a life.”

Twelve’len expressed on his social media that he wanted to use this collaboration to motivate others. His goal is to build the idea around not getting consumed in everything around you. He hopes that his message on his sandals will go far and continue to inspire others to live their lives with a purpose.
