Autonomous Vehicle Dashboard
What does a car dashboard look like in the future?
Prompt:
We're 10 years in the future and autonomous vehicles have become the main mode of transportation. An autonomous car company has hired you to design a new digital experience for a car dashboard.
Process:
This was a three day design sprint so I made my research process as simple as possible; I turned to Google and searched:
"Use cases for autonomous driving"
"One of the examples is the car approaching a construction site. There's a red traffic light, and the construction worker waves you through. How does the car know that this is actually a person of authority?"
"So, you might have AV(Old HOV) lanes where cars, instead of just going 60 or 70 miles an hour, go 120 to 150 miles an hour toward downtown, based on this combination between AVs and infrastructure."
Goal: Getting in and entering the AV (Autonomous Vehicle) Lane/State
Car states: Highway, Ability to fast travel, Changing (merging) Lanes, Fast Travel
Wireframes
Sketches
Summary:
Creating a fast travel state that occurs in a few simple steps accessible with the press of a button streamlines the transportation process of the future
Tools used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
