The Zodiac Hours - Motion Graphic Design Project

The Zodiac Hours visualizes the 12 Chinese zodiac animals with Lunar time zone to represent each of their activities within the hours.
Chinese Animal Zodiac or also known as ‘十二生肖’ in Chinese is a repeating life cycle of 12 years, with each year represents an animal sign and its attribute.

The Concept:

The Zodiac animals are fixed in order according to Chinese Yin and Yang Theory. It is based on their number of claws (odd: 5 or even: 4), thus rearranging the complementary yin-yang sequence. Divided a day into twelve
2-hour periods, and designated an animal to represent each period.
The Zodiac clock spins in a never ending spiral and zooms into the Yin & Yang, opening the visual world of the 12 Zodiac animals.
