We left Budapest at 6:30 this morning via a FlixBus. The Danube River looked beautiful on the way out.

Germaphobe's Nightmare
Our Airbnb's tiny bathroom. The shower nozzle doubled as a sink faucet and it seemed cute/quirky at first, but then I felt quite disturbed thinking about how the hand soap probably doubles as body soap. Also, the floor was usually wet - but from what? I hoped the shower, but I couldn't really use this bathroom in peace.

We ate lunch at this place called Marks and I loved it! They equally cater to so many different kinds of diets and had unique takes on classic comfort foods. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and it was really refreshing to see this on the menu and to have such great customer service:)

This is what I ordered at Marks ~ the Vegan Crunch and a side of vegetables.

Until our arrival, we did not know our Airbnb was in such a cool area (Neubaugasse). There were vintage boutiques, coffee shops, and holistic stores everywhere. This was taken in the latter; I think these are perfumes.

You want to know something wild? Sarah and I worked the same tent at Lollapalooza in Chicago this Summer, and had definitely seen each other around campus prior to that, but we never really talked until we officially met in Budapest last month. Now we're traveling together! Crazy.

Café Diglas was... interesting. It's quite pretty, but our waitress was rude to us from the get-go. Then, after she told us there were no vegan options (not even soy milk), she called me out for not ordering anything (knowing I was vegan?). I later learned from my friend, who studied in Vienna, that their cafe culture follows a practice where the waiter is seen as someone you need to win over with respect, but that was so unpleasant. I don't recommend.

On the other hand, Viennese bakery chain Anker has many, many vegan options! I ordered this thinking it was a cinnamon roll, but it was actually a schnecken (and still very good).

Kinda felt like I was walking into a different reality when I entered this room. This is the exhibition Double Lives, currently at mumok. It showcases visual artists who also partake in music performance and creation.

Our last stop in Vienna was at an Indian restaurant, Nirvana. Momentarily felt that.
