The Singapore Design Festival is an exchange; a showcase of different designers from different nations, cultures and disciplines coming together to present new ideas and possibilities. Its diversity is reminiscent to Singapore’s melting pot society. Such a relation is always one with uncertainty and fragility – a trapezium is seen clashing into a triangle. Deliverables included – a logo, A2 poster, and an A5 mailer.

Captured in the logo is the moment of two differences coming together to form a new singular – an arrow that is taking off in an upwards direction. From our diversity we gain much potential to achieve refreshing approaches and new perspectives to design. In this exchange of ideas, a point is made, a problem is solved. We learn as we progress, evolving and adapting along the way just as the lines on the logo seem to be able to stretch and bend its way into a more distinct arrow.

A5 MAILER An unconventional pentagonal mailer for a fictitious SDF’12 that is based on the concept of the logo, which is about different elements coming together to create new possibilities. The same concept is revisited in the organization of content through the use of multiple folds.
