This original photo was taken by Russell James in 2011. The subject of this portrait is supermodel Adriana Lima. This is a piece of mine that people seem to be most impressed with. I wanted to challenge myself since I don't draw as many women as I do men. I'm pretty happy at how a piece this size turned out. I've branched out from just drawing faces and began adding form and body to my works. I used plenty of graphite on this drawing and broken a number of pencils determined to get a life-size realistic portrait of the model. This piece definitely boosted my confidence in my artwork and abilities. There are several different light sources in the photo and I did my best to capture all of them.
