An espadrille shoe brand created for MA in Graphic Design
RAMLA
The shoes are designed after a model from the Seventies. They are typical Espadrilles, modernized in design & all crafted in Italy. The aim of the project was to give a new role to the shoe, a new value & a new face to the brand, linking everything to tradition. The brand had to be modern yet show heritage.
The name "Ramla" is an Arabic word that means sand. It is very easy to pronounce, and also closely relates to the espadrille, as it is a summer shoe. The logo was created in reference to 70s typefaces but refined to be able to last & give the brand an opportunity to expand beyond the 70s.
