Apap Teso is a local Ugandan brand name of a banana-based food. This means that the major ingredient contained within is banana. Apap Teso is the name of the Ugandan god that controls the weather. Since banana production is reliant on good weather, the use of this name as a brand is meant to be a blessing of banana plantations. The packaging design uses the banana leaf as its main element and shows the Ugandan totem based on this god. The logo is a bunch of bananas in a totem pattern. It shows the product and highlights the totem impolitely.
On the front of each label, geometric shapes show the totem of the god in a contemporary way. The bright colours are inspired by African fabric texture. On the back of the label, there is a brief introduction of the farmers who made the product. As Uganda is one of the poorest nations in the world, this information of the farmers can be viewed as an advertisement in support of local farmers.
