The Pouty Porg
For this animation, I chose to go with a simple conceptive of a pouty, crying Porg from Star Wars. My objective was to emulate clean and crisp animation that people might say "aww" to. I accomplished that through keeping the design and simple as well as the coinciding animation.
Sketches
Through the sketching process I was able to draw out my ideas for the animation I had in mind. I wanted to really focus on the eyes and the mouth, as they would be the center focal point of my animated porg. I also used some sketches to design the whole body and possible movement of the arms and feet.
The Flawed First Draft
This is the result of my first draft. I knew the design and the animation needed some critique. Luckily I was able to receive some from my peers. They told me to make the loop flow together more so that the viewer would not be able to tell when the animation starts and ends. I was also told that the black background I had in place made it hard to see the wings of the porg. I was able to make these changes and add a more complete look for my animation.
