For this project I chose to create a wire sculpture of a cats head inspired by my cat Buffalo. I used 16Ga wire, it stands 8 inches tall and is 10 inches wide. I wished that I would have measured everything a little bigger because I wrapped the wire around a lot of times to make sure everything was connected and secured but it lost a little bit of height. The cat head is posed to look from straight on. My sculpture did turn out different than my sketch. My sketch was a little more complex then the sculpture itself.

The most difficult part for me was wrapping and connecting the wires so that my sculpture is secure. It was challenging because sometimes whenever I would try to tighten the wire in a specific spot it would bend at another spot. I think that the sculpture turned out decent for my first sculpture ever. For most of the project I was frustrated with how the process was going. I have a new respect for artists who are able to create sculptures and make it look easy, because it is for sure not. I think that the long whiskers give away that the sculpture is a cat, at least that is my hope. I think that the whiskers are the most valuable feature of the sculpture because of this. I hope that my design is recognizable.

I learned a lot during this project. Since this was my first wire sculpture ever I learned what the process was like and how to connect and disconnect the wires from each other and how to wrap the wires in a way so that they are secure.
