The Brief
So recently I was asked to illustrate a series of famous robots - it was up to me which they were - it just had to be a head shot and within a square composition. I can't say my job is a particularly hard one when I just had to pick out six robots that were iconic to me. So I choose in no set order; Wall-E, R2D2, Optimus Prime, Iron Giant, Hal and Fender. All of these made a great impression on me (especially the Iron Giant).
The Answer
The challenge I had with this commission was to try and give texture to flat shapes and to make sure the expression came through.
