The Fantastic Letterpress Shop of our Fellow Matias

The Fantastic Letterpress Shop of our Fellow Matias (A Fantástica Tipografia do Companheiro Matias in portuguese) it's a biographical book about the letterpress printer Ademir Matias. Working since 1955 at the same place, Matias is one of the last traditional printers in Brazil that still works only with letterpress. To honor his legacy, graphic designers Gabriel Nascimento and Olavo D'Aguiar united many others designers to make a experimental work over the Matias phrases. Using the Matias principle that says "anything with the same height of a movable type can be printed", it was used stamps, Lego pieces, vinyl disc, wood saw, kisses, cups of coffee, hands, ink rollers, bubbles, tires, table cloth, smoke, wood and metal types and many others materials. Each book is a unique piece and thats our feeling when we are with Matias because, besides all the years, to be with him in the print shop is a singular feeling.
