This is a personal project, a tribute to my hometown, Messina, in Sicily.
Each image represents a mythological character linked to the city:
Charybdis, the Odyssey monster who devoured ships passing by the Strait of Messina;
Colapesce, the boy-fish who plunged into the sea to find the ring of Frederick II;
Morgana, the fairy of the sea that creates mirages on the water;
Orion, the giant hunter who founded the city.
Each character is immersed into a photo taken by me of the modern Messina, with all her contradictions.
