Creative Co-working

This portfolio documents the process and outcome of designing a creative co-working space. Faced with the task of designing a space for artists and creatives, I took a lot of inspiration from artists and designers in an attempt to achieve a more conceptual and experimental outcome. My main inspiration came from artist M. C. Escher and his work on optical illusions and perspectives. Escher is known for creating prints that trick the mind. While at first they appear normal, upon closer inspection it becomes apparent that these spaces could never exist in three dimensional space. While I know that I could never build one of these illusions, I wanted to create a variety of spaces that encapsulated this feel of impossibility, inspiring artists to achieve their own impossibles.
