Jute as a material has been explored immensely especially  in India. In the process of research and exploring this material we observed that till date jute has been used for fabrication or is manipulated with the support of other materials. So why not make jute stand on its own. We experimented on different techniques for doing so(lacquering, binding with glue, sticking/weaving along  a wire mesh).
After all the experiments we observed that in most of our approach jute was still majorly manipulated by other materials . So finally we thought of using metal wires along the wrap and weft in such a way that the metal wire is used to minimum extent possible without compressing on the strength factors of the product and our aim to make jute stand the prominent material.
Our product is a floor lampshade made of jute wire material .
This is a jute metal wire that wants to become a floor lampshade to offer an earthy ambience and enable flexibility in terms of luminosity.
The flexibility is achieved in terms of it form as well as intensity of the light .Since our product is light weight and easy to handle it can easily be transformed into a table lamp and a hanging lamp. The intensity of the light can be altered by a simple mechanism of just folding it inwards vertically. Also, our product is ecofriendly and biodegradable.
