“Opulent Skyline“  is a promotional video of a reclining chair which are used in business class or first class in international flight. The story is fictious. Through this film, I have tried to show “how much a recliner chair can get into its most luxurious form?” 

when you travel international all you are worried about the long, tring and boring flight. You want to know what all things are there in the flight for u to enjoy and make ur journey happy. In this film I have shown “how comfortable and luxurious your journey can be”

This animated film is the part of my degree project. It is a 3D film with a part of it is rendered in 2D and the character  is  rotoscoped. The movie is all about  attracting  the targetted audience  and to show them how luxurious your international journey can be. To make them feel that if they travel by this flight they will have the most worderful flight.

 

I with help of my faculties and batchmates design the product (chair). Then i listed all the sailent features of the chair. Then I conducted various surney and interview to understand what user look for when they travel through business class. 

 

Base on my research I wrote the script. the voiceover. I recorded a rough version of the voice over to understand the duration of the shots. 
I choosed to do this video in mix medium. the set is done is 3D, character is live shot and then rotoscoped and some visual elements were done in digital 2D. 
I then make a storyboard and then Animatics. This gave me the rough idea of time, duration, motion, flow, etc. of the video. 

To understand the entire space, i make a scaled model to the ratio of 1:6.

Lighting and texturing of the 3D model took quite some time. I tired with various different light set up and different texture. finally feedback from my mentor and jury I decied one of them 

 

 

 

I was awarded the Certificate of Excellence for "The Best Visual Effects" at Design Showcase 2011 held by Symbiosis Institute of Design, pune for this project
