The Bohemian Paradise UNESCO Geopark - visual identity

The Bohemian Paradise UNESCO Geopark
The Bohemian Paradise tourist region is located in North-East Bohemia, nearly 60 km from Prague. In 1955, it was the first place in then Czechoslovakia to be declared a protected landscape area; in 2002, the protected territory was expanded. The uniqueness of the local landscape is given by the combination of beautiful nature and romantic historic sites.

In October 2005, Bohemian Paradise was accepted among the prestigious European and Global UNESCO Geopark Network. The purpose of the existence of geoparks is to support sustainable regional development, research and public education. Over hundreds of millions of years, the area comprising the geopark has been flooded by seas and lakes several times and has witnessed volcanic activity. This gave rise to the current landscape featuring wild-looking rocks, karst formations, romantic valleys, forests, meadows and ponds. The UNESCO Geopark is an area with unique sites that are referred to as a geotope. Geotopes are made of uncovered rocks with rare mineral deposits, fossils and parts of landscape with unusual beauty. The Bohemian Paradise Geopark offers hundreds of locations of geological, archaeological and cultural importance that are worth visiting. Bohemian Paradise is like a true geology textbook.
