Set AI
When all your friends are off and away, you can still play SET!
My friend and I developed an AI to play the card game Set. It started as a school project, but was maintained as we graduated. Currently it's can only be run in a command line. Soon I hope to have a web version up and running. If I can get my hands on enough hardware, this project will have a physical component to interact and play with!
What is Set?
Set is a card game developed by a geneticist who found that the process of pattern matching involved in her job was fun enough to make into a game. The rules are simple, but the game play is deceivingly difficult! Take a look at these example cards
The object of the game is to match a set of three cards so that every feature (i.e. shape, color, count, or shade) is totally unique throughout the set or totally similar throughout the set. A picture is worth a thousand words! Here's an example set.
This is a set because each card has a unique shape, a unique color, a unique number (of shapes), and a unique shading. It would also be a set if, for example, every card was was the same color.
Stay tuned!
This project is undergoing a re-vamp and I'll have a lot more to share later. Check out the GitHub repository if you are interested, or toss me a line if you want to contribute.
